It all started last Wednesday. I took Brooklyn to see the elk in Springdale, by the time we came back she had a horribly runny nose. I figured it was a mixture of allergies, since Shawn's family is terribly allergic to hay and the elk were eating it, and teething-she's cutting five teeth right now, three of them being molars! By the time Friday morning rolled around I knew it was not just allergies or teething. We had been up most of the previous nights with extremely high fevers, horrible coughing, and trouble breathing. So Friday morning we took her in to the InstaCare. We found out that she had double ear infections and croup (sp?)! We were also heading up north friday afternoon to the Hunt Expo (for Shawn) and shopping (for Me) and also to the Draper Temple open house on Monday. The doc said she would be fine to go, so with meds in hand and a shot in the leg, we headed up the road. Friday night she had another horrible night but, we still made it to the Quilted Bear in Draper by 11 am. For those of you who have never been to the Quilted Bear, you need to go! It is filled with tons of cute stuff! Needless to say we spent our entire time there and were just finishing up by the time Shawn called to have us pick him up. We did a bit more shopping at the mall and ate dinner. During all of this Brooklyn acted great, but by the time evening rolled around she was acting miserable again so at about 7pm we decided to head for home, in hopes of having a better nights sleep at home despite driving until midnight. Brooklyn was extremely happy to be home and I am so glad we came home, I was disappointed that we didn't get to go to the open house, but I don't think it would have been a good idea taking her while she was sick anyways. This week we have been busy helping Shawn's parents remodel their deli before the season starts. We have been working our tails off every day, but it's going to look great by the time we're done so I guess it'll be worth it! Brooklyn is feeling MUCH better and is actually eating again and I am so happy to have my sweet little girl back instead of the miserable monster she has been! Also I am going to be purchasing a portable hard drive soon, does anyone have any suggestions? There are so many out there, I'm not sure which one to buy, so any insights would be great!

I know Wade is a fan of Seagate external hard drives, but I don't know if they make portable ones.
Glad to hear Brooklyn is feeling better. Sorry you had to miss the open house. Those are so wonderful. With so many temples being built these days hopefully you will have the opportunity again soon.
I am so sorry, I didn't even know little Brooklyn was sick. We have been in our own little world for a while now.
Kasey,
I hope you don't mind that I check your blog out once in a while. Your little girl is so cute. Sorry that she has been sick. My girls are always great during the day and then horrible at night.
If you don't mind I am going to add you to my list and if you would like an invite to my blog just e-mail me at bring27(at)hotmail(dot)com.

My husband is a total computer nerd, so I asked him about the hard drive. He said that in his opinion, they are all pretty much the same. He doesn't think you can go wrong buying even the cheapest you can find.
Sorry your girl was sick. I had 3 sick kids with what sounds like the same thing . . . fevers, coughs, runny noses, ornery as can be, etc, etc. It's no fun!
Gotta love a bug to ruin a fun little vacation! I have always wanted to go the Quilted Bear, but have never made it...hopefully soon!
