K so a lot of friends are going private lately and are mentioning that they saw something on the news that led them to this decision. I am completely in the dark about this, what did the news say?? I have been wondering if I too should go private, but then I hate it when other people are private! You know when you click on a link to get updated with someone you knew in high school and the login page appears - it frustrates the crap out of me!! I'm not frustrated that they didn't invite me, but the fact that I lost contact with them so I don't even know their email address, so I can email them to tell them to invite me it drives me NUTS!! I love to see what people are up to and I love it when a long lost friend finds me, or vise-a-versa (if thats how you even spell that??) So anyways if someone will please enlighten me on this whole going private thing it would be much appreciated!

I will email you a link to the news segment. Then you can judge for yourself. There are things built into blogspot that keep you safe from searchers. You just have to make sure they are selected. I agree with you on those that are private it is frusterating when you find someone you know and don't know how to get ahold of them to gain access.
I know it is frustrating. I was private before and got sick of telling people to send me there email so I could add them. But at the same time I feel a little more safe knowing who is looking at it especially with putting tons of pictures of my boys on it. I haven't heard anything on the news.
I went private because on my sitemeter there was someone ALWAYS checking my blog that I didn't know and their blog was private. It freaked me out. Later (after going through all the trouble of going private) I found out who it was, but it made me realize that there might be psycho's looking at my blog and I have my most special little people on it.
But on a side note, I just took the private off my blog right befor I checked your post. How funny is that. Then I checked your post and thought, hmmm, should I put it back on?? But I did if for a reason and it will be going back to private in a few days, so don't worry haha!
You know Kasey I was not going to go private ever, but then Terra told me about something that happened that she said was a cause of my blogg, and I kinda got nervous for my own kids, and who might be finding them through someone else. Maybe I will call and talk to you. Yup, that is what I am going to do. haha Love ya!
There is a link on KSL for a tracking system that is free through google that allows you to track who is seeing your blog, from where, and when so you can keep tabs on it. But, I think private is a good idea...
I am private for some of the things mentioned above. However, I have a solution to your frustration with others who are private. Just email (or comment) the person who's blog the link is on, and ask them to email the person you want to hook up for them. That has worked for me, and I ask others who CAN see my blog to please always forward me the email of those who ask about my blog.
